Check out the price of this 1/2 acre lot. $875,000! Our family went on a Sunday drive a few weeks ago. When we saw the price for this property, we couldn't believe it. There isn't even a house there. 
Yes, it is a very nice area. Most of the houses in that area are million dollar homes. Over that hill {levee} in the background is Lake Pontchartrain. {so, do you call that lake-front property?} Many of the homes in this area have extra floors or balconies to see over the levee for a beautiful view. But, $875,000 for grass? That is the price before you'd build a house there. What is land going for in other places in the country??

Yikes. In Weber county a 1/2 acre is about $30,000 give or take a few..
